Sales Director
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Director to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and manage a high-performing sales team. The Sales Director will be responsible for both meeting a personal sales target and ensuring the overall team target is achieved. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and proven success in a B2B, high-value services or solutions environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop and implement the company’s sales strategy to align with business objectives.
- Lead, coach and manage the sales team to deliver consistent performance.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Revenue Growth
- Achieve an individual annual sales target focusing on key accounts, high-value clients, or strategic new business opportunities.
- Ensure the sales team achieves a collective annual revenue target through effective leadership, pipeline management, and deal support.
- Working alongside Lead Generation, Events and Marketing Teams to develop longer-term pipelines.
Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients and partners.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines and performance reports.
- Provide regular updates to the Board on sales performance, market conditions and business development activities.
Team Management
- Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent.
- Lead performance reviews, training and development plans for team members.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 8 years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 3 years in a sales leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in meeting/exceeding personal and team sales targets.
- Strong track record in selling complex services or solutions, ideally in technology, cyber security, or professional services.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Proficient in CRM tools and sales reporting (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce).
Desirable
- Experience working with financial services sectors.
- Excellent knowledge of the cyber security or IT services market.
- Experience scaling sales functions in a growing SME or mid-sized business.
