2|SEC Cyber Circle – ‘A Layered Approach to Cybersecurity’

August 18, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

The 2|SEC Cyber Circle was formed in 2011 to bring together Cyber Security professionals in a relaxed, informal setting, where common challenges and goals can be shared and discussed. We aim for the sessions to be informative, with strategic and tactical suggestions our guests can take away and apply in their own organisations. Each month we will headline with an up-to-date topic, and the session will be supported by a carefully selected Cyber Security Solutions Vendor that will bring something new to the table, and a fresh approach. Over the years we have developed an eclectic following, from seasoned industry veterans to those that have recently entered the profession.

This is an in-person event held in London, which we live stream, and have held them in The Folly for many years, as they make a mean bacon and egg sandwich and have never-ending supplies of coffee.
This event will see focus on the layered approach to Cyber Security, and discuss why it’s essential for organisations to be able to see the whole picture, and where one missing link can bring the whole house down.

The agenda will be as follows:

09:00 – Registration and Breakfast

Please let us know any dietary requirements

09:30 – A Layered Approach to Cyber Security, Dr Michele Peroli, Head of Cyber Services, 2|SEC Consulting
Michele will discuss how to see computer networks as interactive pieces, and the security challenges these pieces pose to assets. He will provide an overview of the methodologies and techniques that are currently used to secure networks, which work, and which don’t.

10.10 – Validating Security Controls through Breach Attack Simulation, Tim Agar, Vice President, Picus Security
Tim will take you through the importance of validating security controls through Breach Attack Simulation (BAS), and how such solutions can simulate read-world cyber threats, to continuously validate, measure and enhance any organisation’s defences against very real Cyber Threats. BAS is a relatively new concept, that we feel is essential for organisations to get to grips with, and we’ve chosen Picus Security due to the huge amount of research and development they’ve invested, to become market leaders. They can, and will, put any security control to the test.

10:40 – Discussion Panel, Everybody

11:30 – The Monument to the Great Fire Of London (optional tour!)
I know we said this is just a breakfast and by now we’ve taken most of your morning up, but we’re right next to the Monument and have secured a private tour slot. The City is full of amazing things you probably just walk past every day, and the Monument provides a unique insight into the infamous fire that started in Pudding Lane. 311 steps to the top, then 311 steps down again.

12:00 – Close
